Once you log in, you'll be taken to the settings page. Choose a map and a layer that you want to populate with new data.

There's a sample map and a layer that you can use for testing purposes. Of course, later you can choose between the maps you've created in the GIS Cloud Mobile Data Collection Portal or Map Editor and the maps someone has shared with you.

If you select a point project or layer in the settings, you'll be collecting points.

To collect point data simply go to the <em>Form</em>, enter the required data and tap Send. The location can be determined automatically using GPS or manually with the Pinpoint tool.

If you've selected a line or polygon project or layer, you'll be able to choose between the GPS location mode which will provide tracking of your movement using your device positioning system, or the Manual mode with which you can draw lines or polygons on the map. You can combine both modes if that suits your purpose.

The <em>Map</em> view will provide <em>Controls</em> for line and poly collection which you can toggle using the <em>Controls</em> button below the map.

Once you're happy with the line or polygon you've collected, return to the Form view and click Send to complete collection. The polygons will be automatically closed.

You can choose between low/high setting for the quality of photos taken with MDC.

In the Map tab, you can view all the layers that are on the map and review the attribute data of all the submissions simply by tapping on the point. It is also possible to search for the attribute data or edit the already collected features.

After a submission, tap <em>Refresh</em> to see the new point on the map.

If you set the <em>Send using cellular data network</em> option to <em>No</em>, your device will send the data you collect only via Wi-fi connection and preventing unnecessary mobile internet traffic.

The <strong>offline maps</strong> option makes a map available in absence of an Internet connection.
